Enzo Fernandez agrees Real Madrid contract

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has reached an agreement in principle on personal terms that will allow him to become Real Madrid’s latest signing in a spectacular summer transfer window, according to a report.

Enzo has been seeking to leave Chelsea for several months, having grown increasingly discontent with the BlueCo project, and the 25-year-old Argentine has taken a sizable step towards joining Real Madrid by agreeing a contract with the Bernabeu side, according to transfer insider Nicolo Schira.

Schira reports on X: “Agreement in principle between Real Madrid and Enzo Fernandez for a contract until 2032. Real Madrid are now ready to submit a huge bid to Chelsea to try to sign the midfielder, who wants to leave Chelsea and is pushing to join Real Madrid.”

Enzo Fernandez disagreement

While Fernandez appears to have taken a clear step towards joining Real Madrid, a deal hasn’t been finalised with Chelsea and Blues boss Xabi Alonso disagrees with the club’s current strategy.

As per Spanish outlet SPORT, the Chelsea hierarchy want a straight sale for €140m, but Alonso is keen for either Arda Guler or Eduardo Camavinga to be included in the transfer.

He worked with both players during his stint as Real Madrid manager and it’s reported that he wants to secure a reunion with at least one of them this summer.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan sale confirmed by Fabrizio Romano

Chelsea have confirmed the sale of youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan to West Bromwich Albion.

The England U20 striker joined Chelsea from Southampton for €3.4 million in 2023 and he has left the Stamford Bridge outfit without making a first-team appearance during his three years at the club.

Morgan scored 21 goals in 46 matches for Chelsea’s U21 side, but he was unable to force his way into the Blues’ senior set-up and West Brom have now finalised a deal to bring him to the Hawthorns.

The fee has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X: “Jimmy Jay-Morgan from Chelsea to West Brom, here we go! Deal agreed today for £4m (€4.6m) total package. CFC also included a sell-on clause as part of the deal.”

Marc Cucurella speaks out

Marc Cucurella has confirmed the reason behind his summer move from Chelsea to La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Speaking to El Mundo, the Spain star admitted: “In the end there were different options, but when the offer from Real Madrid came along, I didn’t hesitate. I think it’s a unique opportunity. Ultimately, playing for Real Madrid is an honour, and not many players can say that, so I had no doubts.

“I think both I and those around me, my family, were clear that it was an opportunity we couldn’t refuse, and I’m very happy with the decision we made.”

Cucurella added on Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho: “He told me he wanted me, and that’s it. I’m very happy about this confidence. I’m looking forward to starting to work with him.”

Iliman Ndiaye blow

Chelsea have been handed a major blow in their bid to sign Iliman Ndiaye after he confirmed his desire to play in the Champions League amid significant transfer speculation.

Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs understood to be interested in acquiring Ndiaye this summer, although he has hinted that a move to the Emirates Stadium would be far more appealing than linking up with Xabi Alonso in west London.

When asked about his future at Everton by SPORTbible, Ndiaye said: “You don't know where football will take you next. As I've always said, I want to be the best player and to do that, you have to play at the top. I want to be playing at the top level. I want to be playing Champions League football.”

Chelsea failed to qualify for any European competition after a 10th-place finish in the Premier League last season, and their lack of Champions League football may block a deal, allowing Arsenal to pounce.

Lucas Bergvall latest

Chelsea scouts will be watching Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall in action for Sweden at the 2026 World Cup, as per Simon Phillips.

The Spurs star has been linked with a move to Chelsea for several months and the Blues reportedly plan to send scouts to keep an eye on his performances for Sweden as they prepare for the potential departure of the aforementioned Fernandez.

Chelsea believe that Bergvall may be open to leaving Tottenham this summer and they are ready to pounce if a deal becomes a possibility.
