Arsenal Transfer News Today: Confidence over signing as €60m race blown wide open
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Jeremy Monga, Wiliam Gomes and Rafael Leao.
Monga confidence
Arsenal are confident of wrapping up a deal to sign Leicester wonderkid Jeremy Monga, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are the favourites to secure the signing of the 16-year-old, with Monga informing his suitors earlier this week that he favours a move to North London. The youngster has rejected the chance to sign a professional contract at Leicester and will leave this summer.
Arsenal are currently ahead of other leading English clubs interested in securing his services," Romano said. "Negotiations are ongoing between all parties involved, including the player, Leicester City and Arsenal. There is genuine confidence within Arsenal that they can complete this signing."
Arsenal join Gomes race
Arsenal have entered the race for Porto winger William Gomes, as per Globo Esporte.
The Portuguese champions are not keen to sell the 20-year-old this summer, but that has not stopped various suitors from enquiring. Atletico Madrid, Man Utd and now also Arsenal have made contact with the Brazilian.
Gomes has an €80 million release clause, and it is believed that Porto will not entertain any bids below €60m. The winger did not make the Brazil squad for the World Cup, but he is coming off a very impressive season.
Leao ready to move
AC Milan winger Rafael Leao has reiterated his desire to change clubs this summer after already hinting at a transfer last week.
Recent reports have suggested that the winger has offered himself to Arsenal, while there is also interest in joining Barcelona or Man Utd. Milan are said to be demanding around €50m for the Portugal international.
"I want a new challenge out of Serie A", Leao said. "I follow the Premier League with great attention. If I have the opportunity to play there, or in LaLiga, I would be really happy because my talent would be hailed there."
Bayern interested in Martinelli
Bayern Munich have retained their long-standing interest in Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, Christian Falk states.
The Brazilian emerged as a target for the Bundesliga giants during Thomas Tuchel's time at the club in 2023/24, and Martinelli remains on the club's shortlist of winger targets. However, a transfer is currently deemed unlikely.
Bayern are poised to sign versatile PSV attacker Ismael Saibari, and Martinelli does not necessarily suit the profile of player they are going for, even if his supposed price tag of €45m would make him affordable.
Bournemouth adamant Kroupi is staying
Bournemouth are not entertaining the thought of Eli Kroupi leaving the club this summer, TEAMtalk claims.
Despite claims that the French forward is keen to join a Champions League club, the Cherries are said to be "completely relaxed" about the situation and insist that he is not for sale at any price.
Kroupi has been linked with numerous clubs in recent weeks. Arsenal, Man Utd, PSG and now also Liverpool, following Andoni Iraola's appointment as head coach, have been associated with the teenage sensation.
