Ederson breakthrough

Man Utd have agreed a deal with Atalanta to sign midfielder Ederson, according to David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano.

Talks with the Brazil international have been in place for weeks, but discussions with Atalanta over a fee dragged on. It has now been revealed that a breakthrough has been reached, with Man Utd wrapping up a €45 million package.

However, despite not making the cut for his country's World Cup squad, Ederson's move to Man Utd is not expected to be officially announced until July. The Premier League transfer window already opens on 15 June.

Fernandes talks to ramp up

With a deal for Ederson under wraps, Man Utd are now poised to shift their focus to West Ham star Mateus Fernandes, ESPN reports.

The Red Devils are expected to make an approach for the Portugal international shortly. Fernandes is understood to be keen on a move to Old Trafford this summer and to play alongside compatriot Bruno Fernandes.

West Ham are expected to be forced to make some painful sales following their relegation to the Championship, with the club having to raise north of €100m to make up for lost revenues. Fernandes is one of the most likely names to depart.

Berrada's clear Rashford message

Man Utd CEO Omar Berrada insists that the club need to be "disciplined" this summer and not let their transfer business be "dictated" by agents or market forces. While the Red Devils supremo was talking about incomings, his comments also clearly apply to potential exits such as Marcus Rashford.

Earlier this week, reports had claimed that Man Utd had softened their stance in talks with Barcelona, who are reluctant to pay €30m for the winger, but Berrada's comments indicate that this is not the case.

"We have a clear plan," Berrada said. "We have to be really disciplined, it’s simple. It’s very important that you don’t let the market or the agents dictate what we should be doing."

Greenwood windfall nears

AS Roma are stepping up their efforts to sign Marseille forward Mason Greenwood, Di Marzio claims.

The disgraced former Man Utd star is believed to be Roma's "first-choice" target to reinforce the attack. A departure from Marseille has been considered likely for some time.

Man Utd are paying close attention to the situation as they are entitled to a significant portion of the fee Marseille are set to receive. The Ligue 1 side have reportedly slapped a €50m asking price on Greenwood.

Bruno talks end

Man Utd have halted their contract talks with Bruno Fernandes, as per The Mirror.

The Red Devils planned to reward their club captain with an improved deal following his outstanding season, which saw him break the Premier League assist record and scoop the division's Player of the Season award.

However, it is now reported that discussions have been paused until the end of the year. Fernandes is expected to yet again field Saudi interest this summer, but Man Utd believe that he will stay despite the lack of progress in contract talks.

Trabzonspor determined to keep Onana

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has again outlined his intention to keep Man Utd goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Cameroon international spent the season just gone on loan at the Turkish club after being replaced by Senne Lammens. Onana impressed at Trabzonspor, but it was thought that a permanent move would be impossible due to his desire to return to a top European league.

However, Dogan insists that all hope is not yet lost. "We speak with Onana every day," he said. "We won’t have any financial difficulties. We’ll make the necessary sacrifices. I don’t think we will experience any setbacks. But if we do, we will find another goalkeeper of the same quality."

Hojlund deal official

Man Utd have formally announced that Rasmus Hojlund has completed a permanent move to Napoli.

The Danish striker joined the Serie A giants on an initial loan deal last summer, but the deal was always expected to become permanent due to a purchase obligation that was to be triggered in the event of Champions League qualification.

This was comfortably achieved by Napoli, meaning that Hojlund has been acquired for €44m. The Italian outfit had already paid Man Utd a €6m loan fee, meaning that the Red Devils have recouped a handsome €50m from their disappointing €77.8m signing.
