Arsenal agree transfer fee for first summer signing
Arsenal have reportedly reached a transfer fee agreement with Leicester City for England U19 winger Jeremy Monga.
The 16-year-old has already finalised personal terms with Mikel Arteta’s side ahead of a high-profile summer switch, and it’s now revealed that Arsenal have finally agreed a fee with the Foxes too.
That is according to talkSPORT, who report that Monga is set to move to the Emirates Stadium for a transfer fee in the region of €11.6 million (£10m).
Rumours had suggested that a tribunal may be required to determine the level of compensation Leicester would receive for Monga, however talkSPORT report this is unlikely to happen, with a fee now agreed between the two clubs.
As many as eight teams wanted to sign Monga this summer, including Leeds United, Manchester United and Newcastle United, but Arsenal have won the race for his signature and they are expected to formally announce his arrival imminently.
Monga became the youngest goalscorer in Championship history when he scored against Preston North End last August, only that remains his only first-team goal for Leicester and he is set to leave the King Power Stadium having made 37 senior appearances for the club.
The England teenager is either expected to be sent out on loan for the 2026-27 season or play in the U21 set-up if his move to Arsenal is officially completed.
Who else will Arsenal sign?
While Monga could become Arsenal’s first summer signing, he certainly won’t be the last as the club look to back Mikel Arteta in the transfer market as they aim to defend their Premier League crown.
As revealed by FootballTransfers, Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers is considered to be a dream target by the Arsenal hierarchy and a deal is currently being explored by the board members at the Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez and Club Brugge forward Christos Tzolis have also been heavily linked with a switch to the north London giants.
Furthermore, Arsenal are expected to sign Piero Hincapie on a permanent deal from Bayer Leverkusen following a successful loan spell at the club in 2025-26.
