Arsenal’s interest in FC Midtjylland winger Dario Osorio has been confirmed by the club’s technical director Kristian Kjaer as Mikel Arteta’s side look to pursue a deal for the second consecutive summer.

Osorio was on Arsenal’s radar in 2025 and although a transfer failed to be finalised, the Gunners remain eager to bring him to the Emirates Stadium after he scored eight goals and provided 10 assists in 49 games across all competitions last season.

The Chile international, who has 26 senior caps for his country, has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs in recent months, and Kjaer has admitted that selling players is part of Midtjylland’s model, with Osorio next in line to secure a transfer.

He told The Evening Standard: “We know that Arsenal have been looking into Osorio, but we also know other clubs in the Premier League have done the same. I also think it is well known that Bournemouth looked into him historically. There are other clubs in the Premier League also looking into him.

“In my opinion, he serves the Premier League very, very good because he has a hard-working mentality. His defensive transition runs are amazing, his top speed is amazing. Left-footed right winger can go to the right and to the left of his direct opponent.

“He has the full package, seen as the next Alexis Sanchez in Chile. I can see him making a difference in the Premier League.”

Amid interest in Osorio, Kjaer has hinted that a transfer will be permitted this summer if a suitable bid is lodged.

“I think what we are good at is to have an eye for identifying potential that fits Midtjylland's style of play,” he said. “We believe we will [also have players who] fit the top four leagues in the world because that is also our dream. And our idea is to sell players to the biggest leagues, especially also the Premier League.”

Analysis: Why Arsenal may not sign Dario Osorio

While Kjaer has given Arsenal the green light to pursue a deal for Osorio, it remains to be seen if the Gunners will seriously look to finalise a transfer agreement this summer.

A deal is close to being agreed for Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga, while the club also want to sign Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola amid the uncertain futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis is on their radar too, and a move for Osorio therefore seems slightly unrealistic, especially as they will have ambitions of finally winning the Champions League for the first time ever next season.
