Man Utd won't break the bank on Diomande

Man Utd have informed RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande that they will not pay €100 million to sign him this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils remain keen on the Ivory Coast international, but they have decided that Leipzig's price tag is excessive. They will only make a move for the 19-year-old if he is available at a cheaper price. Meanwhile, Liverpool and PSG are showing a strong interest.

"Man Utd are following the player, but they have already informed people close to the player that they will not pay €100m for Diomande," Romano explained. The Red Devils were already interested in him in January.

Rafael Leao looks increasingly likely to leave AC Milan this summer, Gazzetta dello Sport claims.

The Portugal international has endured two difficult seasons and is no longer considered untouchable by the Rossoneri. Leao has "reached the end" of his Milan career, the Italian outlet writes.

Currently, there are two realistic destinations for him: Man Utd and Fenerbahce. The Red Devils are long-time admirers and have "resurfaced" in recent days. Leao is likely to be available on a cut-price deal this summer.

Acheampong temptation

Man Utd are interested in young Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong, as per Ben Jacobs.

The 20-year-old is appreciated at Old Trafford and could become an option if Man Utd decide that they want to sign a right-sided defender. Acheampong can play as a centre-back and right-back.

He decided to stay at Chelsea, but he didn't see much action this season. If incoming Blues boss Xabi Alonso can't guarantee him regular minutes, Acheampong could be tempted to leave Stamford Bridge even though the highly-rated prospect is considered "untouchable" by his club.

"Chelsea’s perspective is he’s pretty much untouchable, but information is that the player would be interested in exploring options if he feels he is not going to be getting regular game time next season," Jacobs said.

Ederson plan

Man Utd are closing in on the signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson, though they have yet to make a final decision on whether or not he really is the man to replace Casemiro.

Should they indeed finalise the Brazilian's arrival, it is unlikely that he will be a like-for-like replacement. Ederson has not shown the same well-roundedness as his compatriot, with Casemiro also impressing offensively.

Creativity is not Ederson's strong suit, which is why the club's second midfield signing is likely to be someone who can contribute more going forward. The Atalanta man would mainly stick to breaking up play and keeping it simply in possession.
