It was the second time this season that Forest have lost at home to the Danish outfit, with Vitor Pereira’s side unable to convert any of their 22 shots over the course of the game.

On the other hand, Cho Gue-Sung struck with 10 minutes remaining for the visitors as they picked up an unlikely victory.

Omari Hutchinson blames his face cream: I couldn’t see!

Hutchinson, who played the full 90 minutes and was one of Forest’s brightest outlets with four shots, said the wretched conditions did not help the Premier League side.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, the former Chelsea player said: “I couldn't really see. I had my face cream coming in my face, but yeah, it was very tough.

“The conditions weren’t the greatest, but there's no excuse. I think we had a lot of chances in the first half, even the second. And as I said, if we don't punish them, they're going to punish us with one chance and that's how it goes.”

He was pressed further about the heavy rainfall, which saw water begin to lie on the surface of the pitch before the end of the game.

“I think we had like two chances in the first five minutes at the start of the season half. And as you said, yeah, the weather came down and things changed. And, you know, we weren’t winning second balls, and they put pressure on us. And yeah, they punished us,” Hutchinson said.

What’s next for Forest?

Before Forest travel to Denmark for the second leg of this European clash against a Midtjylland that has not lost at home this season, they face a massive Premier League date with Fulham that promises to be pivotal in the relegation battle.
