Manchester United striker target Karl Etta Eyong has decided to reject the advances of CSKA Moscow, despite Levante’s desire to sell him.

The Cameroon international has scored six goals and provided three assists in 22 La Liga appearances so far this season, and CSKA Moscow have been attempting to sign him for several months.

Fabio Celestini’s side have submitted a €30 million offer for his services and Levante are keen to offload the 22-year-old on a permanent deal before the Russian winter transfer window closes on 19 February.

However, Eyong has no intention of moving to CSKA Moscow and he was named on the substitutes bench for Levante’s 1-0 loss to Villarreal on Wednesday evening as a result of his current transfer stance.

That is according to Ben Jacobs, who posted on X: “Etta Eyong was benched for Levante’s match with Villarreal this evening.

“Understand Levante are pushing to sell the striker to CSKA Moscow, who have made an offer in excess of €30m. Eyong being pressured to leave but has no interest in going to Russia.

“Significant summer interest in the Cameroon forward. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal all have Eyong on their radar. Understand Fulham and Everton also now interested.”

Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano added: “Etta Eyong has no intention to accept a move to Russia despite Levante open doors to CSKA Moscow.

“€30m fixed fee on the table from CSKA but Etta Eyong prefers to stay and move in the summer to a European club. This is why he was benched tonight.”

Karl Etta Eyong to Man Utd?

As mentioned, Man Utd are among the top European clubs interested in signing Eyong this summer, although they will face significant competition for his signature when the transfer window opens in June.

The Red Devils spent a whopping €76.5m to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko last year, but he has only scored six goals in 21 Premier League games since his arrival at Old Trafford and interim boss Michael Carrick has favoured Bryan Mbeumo through the middle in recent weeks.

As a result, Man Utd have unsurprisingly been linked with a number of centre forwards ahead of this summer and Eyong has reportedly been earmarked as a top target amid the club’s pursuit of a new striker.
