George had been close to joining Fulham for €25 million on deadline day during the summer but the move collapsed at the last minute, leading to Chelsea reintegrating the youngster back into their squad.

However, George has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League this season and the 19-year-old was expected to be sold this month.

Everton are believed to have beaten a number of teams to George’s signature and the teenager will travel to Merseyside for a medical ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline day.

There is no indication of the fee in order for Everton to activate their option to buy but David Moyes’ side will cover the forward’s wages in full.

George’s contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 2027 although the Blues have an option to extend it for a further year.

George broke into Chelsea’s first team last season, often being used by Enzo Maresca in cup competitions and making 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring three times.

The winger’s debut campaign saw him named as the club’s academy player of the season but Chelsea were still willing to cash in on him during the summer, only for the move to Fulham to break down in the final hour of the window.

Chelsea were impressed by George’s conduct following the move’s collapse, with the youngster thriving for England’s under-21s, and he was often used as a striker by Maresca early in the season.

But George has only made three appearances since the start of November and he was believed to be in search of more first team football, while Chelsea are open to cashing in and netting pure profit for an academy player.
