Chelsea Transfer News Today: €65m star in talks as THREE players sacrificed
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Marc Cucurella and Murillo.
Marc Cucurella contract talks
Chelsea are ready to formally discuss a new long-term contract with Marc Cucurella as they look to tie the 27-year-old down to fresh terms.
The Spain international, who joined the Blues for €65.3 million, has just over two years remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge and despite rumours of a move back to La Liga, amid reported interest from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, it’s understood that Cucurella wants to extend his stay in west London.
Furthermore, Chelsea are keen to agree a contract extension with Cucurella and they are ready to reward the Spaniard with an improved deal, as per TEAMtalk.
Murillo latest
Murillo is preparing to leave Nottingham Forest this summer amid significant interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, according to TEAMtalk.
The Brazilian’s representatives are actively exploring a potential summer transfer and Chelsea and Liverpool are currently considered to be the frontrunners for the 23-year-old, who is reportedly valued at a minimum of €57.5m.
Chelsea are even willing to listen to offers for Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah in a bid to improve their chances of landing Murillo, while Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping close tabs on the defender.
Igor Thiago wanted
Chelsea have entered the bidding war for Brentford striker Igor Thiago ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
That is according to a shock report from Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Bayern Munich were advancing on an agreement for Thiago before being challenged by both Chelsea and Man City.
The Premier League giants have reportedly intensified their bid for Thiago’s signature and are now working on a proposal to tempt Brentford into a sale this summer.
Chelsea chase Dutch wonderkid
Chelsea are ready to rival Barcelona for the signing of FC Twente centre-back Ruud Nijstad, as per TEAMtalk.
The 18-year-old is being closely watched by a number of top clubs across Europe and Chelsea are the latest team to register their interest in his signature amid their continued pursuit of the best young talents in the world.
Barcelona are pushing to win the race for Nijstad, but they are unwilling to offer more than €10m for the teenager, which has enabled Chelsea and Manchester City to work on a potential deal.
Elliot Anderson price tag
Chelsea have been told that it will cost €115m to beat Man City and Man Utd to the signing of Elliot Anderson, according to a report from Football Insider.
The England international is one of Chelsea’s top targets for the central midfield position, however they will be required to pay a huge fee if they want to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Furthermore, Man City and Man Utd appear to be the two frontrunners for Anderson’s signature, meaning Chelsea face an uphill battle to sign him.
