Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: Ronaldo decision as Premier League manager chaos continues
Fabrizio Romano has given several major updates across Europe and Saudi Arabia, with Cristiano Ronaldo returning for Al-Nassr and key managerial situations now taking clearer shape ahead of the summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo returns for Al-Nassr
Romano first explained the situation of Ronaldo, who has missed Al-Nassr’s last two Saudi Pro League games.
“An important update concerns Cristiano Ronaldo, who is officially back and available for Al-Nassr after recent internal discussions,” the football transfer news expert told his YouTube channel.
“There has been a lot of confusion around the situation, so it is important to clarify that the issue was never between Cristiano and Al-Nassr directly.
“The tension was linked to discussions at the highest level with PIF, regarding strategic decisions, budgets and transfer plans.
“Cristiano maintains an excellent relationship with the club management, coaching staff, team-mates and everyone working daily at Al-Nassr.
“He trained with the squad in recent days, has travelled with the team and will play against Al-Fateh. The decision has been made.
“There was never anything concrete regarding MLS or an immediate departure. Cristiano remains committed to Al-Nassr, fully focused on results and on the club’s strategic direction.”
Vitor Pereira appointed Nottingham Forest manager
Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, have acted quickly to get a new boss in.
“Following the dismissal of Sean Dyche, Nottingham Forest have completed the appointment of Vitor Pereira,” Romano confirmed.
“The former Wolves coach has signed his contract and officially put pen to paper as the new Forest manager.
“This closes one of the major managerial vacancies after a very turbulent period.”
Igor Tudor joins Tottenham as interim solution
Similarly, there’s a new chief in the Spurs dugout.
“Tottenham have decided to appoint an interim manager until the end of the season, and that manager is Igor Tudor,” Romano said.
“Tudor has signed a five-month contract with no option to extend. The agreement is strictly until the end of the campaign.
“He understands the situation clearly. Tottenham want a short-term solution before making a permanent appointment in the summer.”
Pochettino and De Zerbi main summer targets
There is no guarantee that Tudor will still be Tottenham boss next season, with the club exploring other options.
Romano added: “For the long term, the two main names on Tottenham’s shortlist remain Mauricio Pochettino and Roberto De Zerbi.
“Pochettino is fully focused on the US national team and the upcoming World Cup, making any immediate move impossible.
“De Zerbi is aware of Tottenham’s interest, but he is assessing the broader European market and will carefully evaluate all projects before making a decision.
“From now until the end of the season, conversations will continue, but Tudor is only an interim solution.”
Enzo Maresca remains Manchester City priority
The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing in the Premier League, with Manchester City also studying possibilities in case Pep Guardiola leaves.
“There have been reports linking Enzo Maresca with Tottenham, but my understanding is different,” Romano added.
“Maresca remains the main candidate for Manchester City in the event that Pep Guardiola decides to leave.
“Pep is under contract until 2027, and nothing has been decided, but City are preparing for the future.
“At this stage, there is nothing advanced between Maresca and Tottenham.”
Thomas Tuchel and Carlo Ancelotti secure national team futures
International teams are also affected by this chaos.
“Thomas Tuchel has signed a new contract with the FA, extending his role as England manager until 2028,” Romano said.
“Meanwhile, the CBF have offered Carlo Ancelotti a new four-year contract to remain in charge of Brazil until the 2030 World Cup.
“The agreement between Ancelotti and Brazil is considered imminent, with only final details being discussed.
“This confirms Brazil’s satisfaction with his work, leadership and impact on both senior players and emerging talents.”
