Arsenal Transfer News Today: €60m winger wanted as official negotiations planned
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Arsenal transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Antonio Nusa and Fabio Vieira.
Antonio Nusa wanted
RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa has been identified as Arsenal’s latest transfer target amid their pursuit of forward reinforcements this summer.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with his club team-mate Yan Diomande in recent months, however they are also interested in landing Nusa, as per a report from Fussball Daten.
It’s claimed that a fee of between €50-60 million will be required to tempt Leipzig into a sale, with Arsenal and Aston Villa among the clubs to have sent scouts to watch Nusa in action this season.
Fabio Vieira talks
HSV Hamburg are set to engage in talks with Arsenal over a permanent deal for Fabio Vieira ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, according to German newspaper MOPO (via Sport Witness).
The Portuguese attacking midfielder joined Hamburg on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy for €20m, but the Bundesliga outfit currently have no intention of triggering that clause.
Instead, they are keen to lower the figure it will take to sign Vieira and Hamburg officials are planning on holding negotiations with their north London counterparts shortly. Vieira has scored two goals and provided four assists in 24 Bundesliga matches
Arsenal want Castello Lukeba
Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba this summer, as per SportsBoom.
The France defender has been a standout performer since his arrival at Leipzig, but it’s claimed that bids worth around €60m will be considered by the Bundesliga outfit and Arsenal have reportedly earmarked him as a priority target.
However, the Gunners will face significant competition for his signature as Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in landing the 23-year-old when the 2026 summer transfer window opens.
Viktor Gyokeres criticised
Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has taken aim at Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has struggled since his arrival from Sporting CP last summer.
The ex-England international told Metro: “Listen, I don’t mind him. I think he’ll definitely be a source of goals if you play him in every game. But then again, I could probably play in every game for Arsenal; they are the best team at the moment and create a lot of chances.
“But is he the answer? I’m not so sure. He’s certainly an asset to the team. You would expect paying £60m for a striker, for him to be the stand-out striker, the go-to player. But I don’t know…
“I’m probably wanting a bit more than an asset to the squad if I’m paying £60-something million.”
