Real Madrid launch bid for €70m Arsenal star
Real Madrid have reportedly submitted an initial enquiry regarding a summer deal for Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Brazil international has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in world football over the past few years and his immense form at the Emirates Stadium has attracted the attention of the Real Madrid hierarchy.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who report that intermediaries have made “discreet enquiries” about Gabriel’s situation as Los Blancos look to finalise a blockbuster deal for the 28-year-old.
However, Arsenal have promptly responded to interest in their star man by confirming that Gabriel isn’t for sale at any price, with the Brazilian having recently signed a new long-term contract until 2029.
Real Madrid were also unsuccessful in their pursuit of Gabriel’s centre-back partner William Saliba last summer and the Gunners have no intention of allowing either player to depart north London as they look to establish themselves as the dominant force in English football.
Gabriel has racked up 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season and Real Madrid’s interest in his signature comes amid rumours that both Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba will be allowed to depart the Bernabeu when their contracts expire this summer.
The Spanish giants have been tipped to re-sign Como star Jacobo Ramon ahead of the 2026-27 season, while they are also interested in completing a Bosman deal for Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate.
Gabriel Magalhaes to stay at Arsenal
Gabriel, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €69.6 million, is one of several Arsenal stars to have recently signed a new contract at the club, alongside the likes of Bukayo Saka, David Raya, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Saliba.
FootballTransfers understands that Kai Havertz is in line for a new deal too, and the Gunners are also in talks with both Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice over fresh terms.
Meanwhile, we have been informed that Mikel Arteta’s side will look to bolster their forward options when the 2026 summer transfer window opens, with Rafael Leao (AC Milan) and Francesco Pio Esposito (Inter Milan) both of interest to the north London giants.
Newcastle United duo Valentino Livramento and Sandro Tonali are also on the club’s radar ahead of this summer.
