The January window is officially open and although the managerial departures of Enzo Maresca, Ruben Amorim and Wilfried Nancy have dominated the football world so far in 2026, transfer news remains rife.

Chelsea demand
Incoming Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has reportedly asked the club to complete the signing of Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.
Rosenior, 41, is currently the head coach of Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg and he has emerged as the leading contender to be appointed as the Blues’ new manager following Enzo Maresca’s departure on New Year’s Day. In fact, he has already outlined the one player he would like the club to target following his arrival.
That is according to transfer reporter IndyKaila, who posted on X: “Liam Rosenior has asked for Marc Guehi. This is from a first-class source who [is] very well connected with Chelsea.”

Exclusive: Kai Havertz in contract talks
FootballTransfers can reveal that Arsenal are in discussions with Kai Havertz over a new contract.
We understand that the current talks centre around a one-year extension to the Germany international's existing terms, which run until 2028. Havertz signed his current contract when he joined from Chelsea in a €75 million transfer in the summer of 2023.
Sources tell us that Arsenal want to reward the 26-year-old for his consistently strong performances, exemplary attitude in training and the resilience he has shown in the face of frequent injury setbacks.

Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento, FootballTransfers can exclusively reveal.
Sources have revealed that Livramento has emerged as a leading target for the Gunners, though it is unclear whether an attempt for the three-time capped England star will be made in January.
Manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have identified the 23-year-old as a player who fits the profile they are searching for, as they believe he has a similar style to Jurrien Timber and could fit into the right-back role with ease.
Confirmed: Man City in Marc Guehi talks
Manchester City are in talks with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi over a potential January move, FootballTransfers understands.
Guehi, 25, has been a standout performer for Crystal Palace so far this season, registering seven goal contributions in 31 matches across all competitions, and we can confirm that Man City have initiated contact over a January switch.
Sources have informed FootballTransfers that Guehi is keen to complete a move to the Etihad Stadium this month and that he would now prefer to join Man City over fellow suitors Liverpool.
Aston Villa eye Omar Marmoush
Aston Villa are targeting Manchester City attacker Omar Marmoush as a potential January recruit, as per TEAMtalk
Unai Emery’s side are likely to allow Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott to leave this month after the Villa manager admitted that the 22-year-old does not have a future at the club.
It’s reported that the Birmingham club is eager to enhance its top-four push by sending Elliott back to Liverpool and instead signing Marmoush from Man City.
