Liverpool want USMNT left-back to replace departing Andrew Robertson
Liverpool are considering a bid for long-term target Antonee Robinson as club legend Andrew Robertson moves closer to a transfer away.
Robinson, Fulham’s first-choice left-back, was a summer target for Liverpool, who opted to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth instead.
Now, the defending Premier League champions are back in the market for another left-back, according to TeamTalk.
Robinson, nicknamed ‘Jedi,’ began his career in Everton’s academy and is reportedly open to a move to the other side of Merseyside.
Liverpool are looking to add the 28-year-old Fulham defender in the summer, and the club sees him and Kerkez as the long-term duo to cover the left side for the foreseeable future.
Why Robinson is in demand
Robinson was ever-present for Fulham in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, playing over 3,000 Premier League minutes in each campaign. He won the club’s Player of the Season Award in 2023/24.
He provided 16 assists across those two seasons, and his 10 assists in 2024/25 were tied for fourth-most in the league.
The American fullback suffered from a knee injury that kept him out for 11 matches this season, but he has played the full 90 minutes in eight of his 12 appearances since returning.
In 733 minutes across his 11 Premier League appearances so far this season, he has averaged 80.1 touches, 1.47 chances created, and 1.35 successful crosses (26.2 percent success rate) per 90 minutes.
Defensively, he has won over 56 percent of his duels both on the ground and in the air, and is making 3.07 tackles, 1.23 interceptions, and 5.4 ball recoveries per 90 minutes.
These metrics are similar to those of his last two seasons, and his crossing has improved by a few percentage points.
Robinson is the type of fullback who can cover the entire flank by himself, which is a similar style to Kerkez and would make manager Arne Slot’s job easier as he would have a like-for-like replacement at the position.
