The Reds have been in talks over a deal for the teenager in recent days, as per multiple reports, and he is now on the verge of becoming their third signing of 2026, following the signing of Noah Adekoya and an agreement for fellow young defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe.

Liverpool Echo first confirmed that Arne Slot’s side are close to adding Ndiaye to their ranks, while football transfer Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the transfer has been finalised.

He posted on X: “Liverpool reach verbal agreement to sign left-sided CB Mor Ndiaye.

“Senegal defender has played at the recent U17 World Cup in Qatar; deal follows the signing of Ifeane Ndukwe from Austria Wien sealed last week. Here we go.”

Ndiaye, 18, currently plays for Senegalese side Amitie FC, but he is now set to complete a move to Anfield before the end of this month.

He is reportedly expected to initially feature for Liverpool’s U21 side, with the club set to send Amara Nallo out on loan as a result.

Liverpool target January signings

In addition to bolstering their youth ranks, Liverpool are expected to dip into the transfer market to improve the first-team squad at Slot’s disposal.

Club-record signing Alexander Isak is currently sidelined with a broken leg, while Mohamed Salah is competing at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, leaving the Reds incredibly short in forward areas.

Federico Chiesa has also been linked with an Anfield exit, amid interest from Juventus, although a January departure appears highly unlikely due to their current absentees.

Signing a new forward has been identified as a priority by Slot, while the Liverpool hierarchy are also keen to finalise a deal for a central defender after their proposed move to Marc Guehi fell through on Transfer Deadline Day over the summer.
