Chelsea ready to offer transfer ultimatum
Chelsea duo Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo are reportedly set to be offered a transfer ultimatum following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.
Both players will have two years remaining on their current contracts this summer and they will either be required to sign fresh terms at Stamford Bridge or face the possibility of being sold.
That is according to BBC Sport, who claim that Chalobah and Tosin are set to reach a “crossroads” later this year.
Chalobah has been a guaranteed starter for the Blues since returning from a six-month loan spell at Crystal Palace last January, while Tosin, who is the oldest player in Chelsea’s first-team squad, has largely been a rotation option during his stint with the Blues.
An anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by Levi Colwill in August has ensured that both defenders have featured frequently this season, however their roles in west London are likely to decrease by the end of 2026.
Colwill is expected to usurp both players upon his return to full fitness, while academy starlet Josh Acheampong and summer signing Jorrel Hato may be trusted with more meaningful minutes at centre-back.
Furthermore, Mamadou Sarr and Aaron Anselmino could be reintegrated into the Chelsea first-team following their returns from respective loan spells at Strasbourg and Borussia Dortmund.
In addition, Chelsea are also closing in on a January deal for Stade Rennais star Jeremy Jacquet.
Jeremy Jacquet to join Chelsea?
Jacquet, 20, has informed Rennes of his desire to join Chelsea before Transfer Deadline Day on 2 February and he has reached a full agreement on personal terms with Liam Rosenior’s side.
However, the Blues are yet to finalise a deal with Rennes and the clubs remain in contact regarding a possible fee.
It’s understood that Rennes want at least €65 million to sanction a sale this month, with the Ligue 1 outfit seeking a club-record fee, while Chelsea are hopeful of acquiring Jacquet’s signature for a lower figure.
