Chelsea chase HUGE deal for record-breaking Premier League wonderkid
Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly among the clubs set to battle for the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers wonderkid Mateus Mane this summer.
The 18-year-old has burst onto the scene in recent weeks and his development is being closely watched by a number of top Premier League teams ahead of a potential transfer later this year.
Mane joined Wolves from National League side Rochdale in March 2024, despite never playing a senior match for the club, and he has been promoted into the first-team at Molineux since the appointment of new boss Rob Edwards.
He started his first senior game during Wolves’ 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in late December and he has been named in the starting XI in all three of the club’s subsequent English top flight fixtures.
Furthermore, Mane became the youngest ever Wolves player to score in successive Premier League matches when he found the back of the net versus Everton on Wednesday (18 years and 113 days old), which came just four days after his first senior goal against West Ham United.
His rapid ascent has unsurprisingly caught the attention of multiple Premier League clubs, with Chelsea and Man City among those looking at the teenager ahead of a potential deal this summer, as per Football Insider.
Wolves are currently rock bottom of the English top flight table, having picked up just seven points from 21 matches, and Mane is expected to receive significant transfer offers if they suffer relegation to the Championship.

Mateus Mane message
Following his goal against Everton on Wednesday, Mane told Sky Sports: “I’m not scared of anyone, I’ve got to keep going and I deserve to be here. So now I’m improving and showing what I can do.”
When asked if he has been given freedom on the pitch by the aforementioned Edwards, the 18-year-old replied: “100%. He tells me to express myself, be brave one-v-one and I feel like I do that.”
Mane has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at Wolves and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of just €600,000 is set to increase massively next month amid his recent emergence.
