Man Utd receive HUGE update on ambitious Premier League double deal
Crystal Palace are reportedly set to reject any offers they receive for Jean-Philippe Mateta, Daniel Munoz or Maxence Lacroix next year.
The Eagles have enjoyed a supremely successful 2025 and they are determined to avoid losing the bulk of their current first-team squad.
The south London outfit are wary that head coach Oliver Glasner could depart next summer, amid interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United, and they are set to lose Marc Guehi on a Bosman deal when his current contract expires in July.
The club may also be forced to sell star midfielder Adam Wharton if they receive a substantial transfer offer, with several elite clubs across world football keeping close tabs on his development at Selhurst Park ahead of a possible 2026 swoop.
As a result, Palace are determined to put their foot down when it comes to the futures of Mateta, Munoz and Lacroix, as per TEAMtalk, with all three players having attracted suitors in recent months.
Mateta and Munoz, in particular, have been linked with a number of Premier League clubs so far this season, with Man Utd understood to be keeping tabs on both players. However, a double deal in 2026 now seems fairly unlikely.
Crystal Palace block Daniel Munoz transfer
Crystal Palace’s decision to block the sale of Munoz will likely come as a hammer blow for the 29-year-old.
He has been linked with a number of top Premier League clubs in recent weeks and he recently confirmed his desire to leave Selhurst Park if he receives an offer from one of the biggest teams in the world.
“First of all, I think there’s a lot of talk about one club or another. If you ask me, it would be a dream come true to play for one of these clubs, whether it’s Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, or Manchester United,” Munoz told AS Colombia during the November international break.
“I think I’m working towards that; I strive every day to one day attract the attention of one of these clubs, because it’s a dream of mine to get there,” he said.
“Right now I’m focused on my club, on doing things well at Crystal Palace. If you ask me, I don’t have any concrete information that any of these clubs are interested in me. My focus is on Crystal Palace; we’ll see when the winter transfer window gets closer.”
