Liverpool confirm €100m wonderkid as Salah replacement as Saudi Arabia prepare transfer
The Saudi Pro League are ready to splash the cash to sign Mohamed Salah if the Liverpool star opens the door to a move, with his €100 million replacement already being identified by club scouts.
Salah has long-been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and the Egyptian himself has admitted he would have moved to the Gulf nation had he not extended his contract with Liverpool last year.
Saudi Arabia have scaled back their heavy spending on global stars but, according to The Telegraph, ‘funding is still there’ for a player like Salah if they fit the ‘image’ of the league.
Salah has been linked with an exit from Liverpool after being dropped from the starting line-up in recent week amid poor form from both the forward and the team in general and the 33-year-old's relationship with Arne Slot is said to be at 'breaking point'.
“My relations with SPL officials are very good, we talked a lot and the negotiations were serious,” Salah told Egyptian broadcaster ON Sport earlier this year. “It was a good opportunity to me, if I hadn’t renewed with Liverpool it would have happened.”
Liverpool scouts push club to sign ‘best talent since Haaland’
Should Salah be sold, TEAMtalk report that Liverpool are ‘actively’ exploring a deal for Yan Diomande after being encouraged by club scouts to sign the RB Leipzig wonderkid.
Diomande only joined Leipzig in the summer after they activated his €20m release clause at Spanish side Leganes and he has repaid their faith by scoring three goals and providing two assists this season.
The 19-year-old’s performances have attracted the interest of virtually every major side across Europe, however Liverpool are reportedly aiming to move ahead of the pack by acting early to quickly secure a deal.
Those close to Leipzig believe Diomande is Red Bull’s most talented player since Erling Haaland and it would take activating his new €100m release clause to prize him away from the club.
