The Burkina Faso youth international impressed at the recent U17 World Cup in Qatar and Chelsea have identified him as their latest transfer target amid their desire to scoop up the best young talents in world football.

Tapsoba, 15, currently plays for the Real du Faso academy in his homeland and he would be unable to join either Chelsea or Man Utd until after he turns 18 years old in March 2028.

However, both Premier League giants are closely monitoring his development ahead of a possible pre-agreed deal.

That is according to TEAMtalk, who state that Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have also scouted Tapsoba this year.

Man Utd have been considered the frontrunners for his signature for several months, but Chelsea have reportedly now stepped up their interest in the 15-year-old as they look to land him.

Loukman Tapsoba to Chelsea?

Tapsoba has been likened to Blues legend Didier Drogba since his breakthrough at the U17 World Cup, as per TEAMtalk, and the west London outfit are also eager to sign his Burkina Faso youth team-mate Mohamed Zongo.

Furthermore, TEAMtalk have confirmed that Chelsea are in talks over a deal for Austria youngster Johannes Moser, who also starred at the recent U17 World Cup, while they have been linked with the likes of Serhou Guirassy, Adam Wharton and Mike Maignan ahead of next year.

Enzo Maresca’s have already finalised a number of high-profile transfers for 2026 and 2027, with Emanuel Emegha, Geovany Quenda, Dastan Satpaev, Denner and Deinner Ordonez all set to join the club over the next two years amid the club’s continued pursuit of the best wonderkids in the world.
