Man Utd register 'concrete interest' in €136m Premier League superstar
Manchester United have reportedly registered “concrete interest” in Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
Ruben Amorim’s side failed to secure a replacement for the departed Christian Eriksen this summer and they have identified the central midfield position as a key area in need of improvement in 2026.
The Red Devils are expected to bolster their options in the middle of the park with at least one new signing next year and they have shortlisted three Premier League stars as high-profile targets.
Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and the aforementioned Anderson have all been added to Man Utd’s transfer wishlist and they are expected to engage in negotiations with Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest in the coming weeks.
Anderson, 23, has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this year and he is now a regular starter alongside Declan Rice for the England national team after impressing Thomas Tuchel with his performances at the City Ground.
However, Man Utd have been informed they may be required to break their transfer record if they want to sign Anderson in 2026.
Elliot Anderson to Man Utd?
Anderson currently boasts an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €61.7 million, however Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has confirmed that a far higher fee will be needed to poach him away from Nottingham Forest next year.
He posted on X: “Understand Manchester United remain keen on Elliot Anderson and have registered concrete interest.

“Forest are informed. A fee in the region of £100-120 million (€114m-136m) is still being demanded.”
Chelsea and Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Anderson in recent weeks, however Man Utd are currently credited with the most significant interest in his signature as they look to bolster the first-team squad at Old Trafford in 2026.
