He reveals that Zirkzee has many offers from around Europe but Zirkzee's preferred destination is to return to Italy and Serie A where he really made his name with Bologna.

Moretto claims that Zirkzee is Roma's number one target in January with the Giallorossi desperate to sign a new striker as both Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson are not favoured by manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

Zirkzee to leave Man Utd in January?

Zirkzee is likely to leave United, either on loan or permanently, during the January transfer window.

United have not yet given the final green light for Zirkzee to leave but if he continues to play so little then a move seems likely.

Zirkzee has played just 90 minutes of football for Man Utd this season and wants to leave in order to advance his career and to give him a chance of going to the World Cup with Netherlands next summer.

Aside from Roma, West Ham, Sevilla and Como have also been heavily linked.

Zirkzee joined Man Utd in the summer of 2024 in a €42.5 million move from Bologna.

The 23-year-old Zirkzee was one of the standout players in Serie A in the 2023-24 season, leading the club to historic qualification to the Champions League.

He was often compared to former Milan and Barcelona star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, he has struggled to show that form at Man Utd and has been criticised for a lack of goal threat.

In total, Zirkzee has made 54 appearances for Utd and scored seven goals.
