Erling Haaland says YES to BLOCKBUSTER transfer
Erling Haaland has given the go-ahead to join Real Madrid, with the Man City superstar hoping to join the Blancos sooner rather than later.
That is according to respected Spanish journalist Jorge Picon, who reports that Haaland's entourage informed him of Haaland's desire to join Real Madrid.
There have been a number of reports recently that this could be Haaland's last season at Man City given the Norwegian has not only achieved so much at the club, but also due to the uncertain future of manager Pep Guardiola and the outcome of the club's much-publicised corruption trial.
If City are found guilty of irregularities there is the possibly they could be relegated from the Premier League.
Picon says that Haaland would like Madrid to be his next club and that he is in control of his own destiny as he has an unknown release clause in his latest Man City contract that the Spanish giants can activate.
But Picon adds that Madrid may have to offload Vinicius Jr first before they can bring in Haaland, something that is possible given the Brazilian is unsettled and his contract expires in 2027.
Haaland to Real Madrid?
Real Madrid and Barcelona are long-term admirers of Haaland, and it has been repetatedly stated that his next move after City will be La Liga.
Both Barcelona or Real Madrid wanted to sign him when he left Borussia Dortmund for Man City in 2022.
Haaland never intended to stay at City for the long term when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
This is now his fourth season and he will turn 26 in the new year.
Haaland has scored an incredible 141 goals in 159 games for City, winning every major trophy in the club game, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League.
He is enjoying another goal-filled season this term with 17 goals in 13 games for City.
He also has 51 goals in 46 games for Norway.
