Bayern Munich have no intention of allowing Nicolas Jackson to leave in January, despite speculation that a return to Chelsea could be on the cards.

The Senegal international completed an initial loan move to the Allianz Arena on Transfer Deadline Day this summer, after being cast aside by the Chelsea hierarchy, but he has struggled to display his best form since his arrival in Munich.

Jackson has only scored one goal in eight Bundesliga games this term and although he has netted on two occasions in the Champions League, the 24-year-old has been unable to establish himself as a guaranteed starter under Vincent Kompany amid significant competition for places.

Bayern’s loan deal for Jackson includes an obligation to buy for €65 million if he starts 40 games across all competitions this campaign, but the club’s honorary president Uli Hoeness has already confirmed this clause will not be triggered.

The reigning Bundesliga champions are still able to finalise a permanent deal for Jackson next year, although early speculation has suggested that he will return to Chelsea instead before being sold elsewhere.

This has been confirmed by German publication BILD, who have poured cold water on rumours that Jackson may leave Bavaria in January.

Nicolas Jackson transfer truth

Football Insider have reported that Jackson’s loan stint at Bayern could be ended early during the winter transfer window, with Premier League side Everton eager to sign him permanently amid the struggles of both Thierno Barry and Beto.

However, BILD insist that Jackson will not leave Bayern in January. Instead, he will remain at the Allianz Arena until at least this summer, with the on-loan Chelsea striker determined to enjoy a successful end to the campaign.

Bayern aren’t expected to match Chelsea’s asking price next year, although they are yet to make a definitive decision on whether or not to sign the Senegal star on a permanent deal in 2026.
