Cristiano Ronaldo outscored by Chelsea and Man Utd flops in Saudi Arabia
Cristiano Ronaldo won the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot in the 2024/25 season, but he is currently only fourth in the scoring charts in 2025/26.
The Portuguese megastar has been playing for Al-Nassr since early 2023, joining the Riyadh giants after falling out with Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag.
Now aged 40 and widely recognised as the wealthiest footballer ever, Ronaldo has continued to score goals prolifically, but silverware for team success has continually eluded him since heading to Saudi Arabia.
In 112 appearances for Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has netted a stunning 99 goals. Right now, Ronaldo is scoring at a rate of one goal per game in the Saudi Pro League, finding the back of the net five times in as many outings.
Incredibly, however, such a deadly rate is only good enough for fourth place in the current Golden Boot ranking, with two former Premier League stars outgunning the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
Felix, King lead Golden Boot charts
The current leader of the Saudi Pro League scoring charts is former Chelsea flop Joao Felix, who controversially turned down a return to Benfica to link up with compatriot Ronaldo in the summer.
The 25-year-old has scored a whopping eight goals in five Pro League games so far, most recently hitting a hat-trick against Al-Fateh. It was already his second hat-trick of the season. Across all competitions, Felix has scored 11 times in 10 outings.
The Portugal international is being closely pursued by former Man Utd prospect Josh King, who never managed to establish himself at Old Trafford. Now aged 33, the Al-Fateh striker is tearing up Saudi Arabia after stints at Bournemouth, Everton, Watford, Fenerbahce and Toulouse.
King has scored seven goals in five appearances. Like Felix, the Norway international also hit a hat-trick at the weekend in a 4-1 win over Al-Riyadh.
The final player ahead of Ronaldo in the scoring charts is 18-time Mexico international Julian Quinones, who is playing outside of his home country for the first time in his professional career after joining Al-Qadsiah last year.
Bizarrely, the 28-year-old is also coming off a three-goal weekend, having netted all the goals in a 3-1 win over NEOM SC. The other goal in this game was scored by former Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette, who is currently one goal behind Ronaldo in the scoring charts.
The Frenchman isn't the only player currently sitting on four goals for the season, as England international Ivan Toney (Al-Ahli) and former Benfica youngster Marcos Leonardo (Al-Hilal) are level with Lacazette. Leonardo has actually scored successive braces; he has only made two Pro League appearances.
