Celtic 'CRAVE' Postecoglou appointment as McKenna doubts emerge

Celtic chiefs are 'craving' the return of Ange Postecoglou following the unexpected resignation of Brendan Rodgers, according to a report.
The Hoops have been in turmoil for quite some time, and things ultimately culminated in Rodgers walking away from the head coaching job on Monday.
The Northern Irishman, fresh off a 3-1 loss to table-topping Hearts, had his resignation accepted by club bosses, with majority shareholder Dermot Desmond later pulling no punches in slamming Rodgers' "desire for self-preservation."
Desmond took exception to Rodgers' public criticism of the club's transfer business and his allegedly untrue assertion that there had been no discussions over an extension to his expiring contract.
73-year-old Martin O'Neill has taken charge of Celtic in the interim, with the club having been forced to step up their search for a new head coach. Although succession planning was already taking place due to recent results, this process has now been accelerated.
Celtic bosses want Postecoglou amid McKenna worry
According to TEAMtalk, Celtic bosses 'crave' the return of former fan favourite Ange Postecoglou, who is coming off a disastrous spell at Nottingham Forest, which saw him sacked after just 39 days.
Sky Sports confirms that Postecoglou is among the favoured options on Celtic's shortlist, but the report emphasises that it is as yet unclear if the Australian is willing to return to the dugout so soon after back-to-back sackings.
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is also a name that is hugely appreciated at Parkhead. However, the Tractor Boys would be due a sizeable compensation in the region of €6 million.
Ipswich don't want to lose their coach mid-season, but it is understood that they would not stand in his way if he were to express a desire to leave. It is doubtful that he would do that, though, with McKenna said to be reluctant to jump ship mid-season.
Another name that features prominently on Celtic's shortlist is that of former player Craig Bellamy, who is in charge of the Welsh national team at present. His current focus is on November's crucial World Cup qualifiers, so it remains to be seen if he is willing to discuss taking the job.
