Man Utd move for another Madrid star after Bellingham snub
Jobe Bellingham has made it clear he has no interest in joining Man Utd in January, prompting the club to move for Atletico Madrid star Conor Gallagher.
The Daily Express reports that Bellingham does not want to move to United, who are interested in signing the younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude.
Instead, United will now intensify their pursuit of Atletico Madrid midfielder Gallacher.
United are in the market for a central midfielder in the January market as the position has become a big problem over the last year or so.
Bellingham rejects Man Utd, Gallagher move intensifies
The Express reports that Bellingham is not interested in United despite the fact he has struggled badly since his summer move to Borussia Dortmund from Sunderland.
The player has made just two starts and is being tipped to leave in January.
The younger brother of Real Madrid's Jude, however, wants a club who are in the Champions League.
Thus, Man Utd will resurrect their bid for another Madrid-based midfielder in Gallagher.
United tried to sign Gallagher from Atletico Madrid in the final 24 hours of the summer transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano says that United had an official contact with Atletico in an attempt to bring Gallagher to Old Trafford on loan with an option to buy.
The 25-year-old Gallagher joined Atletico Madrid from Chelsea in the summer of 2024 and made 50 appearances in his first season.
He has made 12 appearances so far this campaign for Diego Simeone's men.
Gallagher has also won 21 caps for England, scoring one goal.
