Manchester United will reportedly demand a transfer fee of €80 million for club captain Bruno Fernandes next summer amid interest from Bayern Munich.

The 31-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this year, however he snubbed the chance to sign a lucrative contract in the Middle East in favour of remaining at Old Trafford, despite the club’s dismal 2024-25 season.

Fernandes was Man Utd’s standout performer last term and his form for the Red Devils has caught the attention of reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, according to The Mirror.

Vincent Kompany’s side are eager to bolster their ranks with the addition of the Portugal international and it’s reported that Fernandes would be open to leaving Man Utd if they fail to qualify for the Champions League yet again this season.

However, the 31-year-old has seen an €80m asking price slapped on his head by the Red Devils and it remains to be seen if Bayern will be willing to make Fernandes one of their most expensive signings in history next year.

Bruno Fernandes to leave Man Utd?

Rumours suggested that Fernandes rejected the chance to join a club in the Saudi Pro League due to next summer’s World Cup, however he categorically denied such speculation over the October international break.

“I didn't close the door on moving to Saudi Arabia because of the World Cup,” the Man Utd captain told reporters. “That was never in my mind. I wanted to stay at Manchester United, and the club wanted me to stay. That's all there is to it.”

Fernandes now has less than two years remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford, but he insists that an exit isn’t on his mind.

When asked if he will leave the club in 2026, the Portugal midfielder admitted: “That's an impossible scenario to imagine, because it's nothing that's been discussed with me. When it was discussed with me, I spoke openly with you at a press conference before a Nations League match.

“I like to enjoy the moment, and the most important thing for me now is representing the national team, because it's a source of enormous pride to be able to play tomorrow [Saturday], and I still don't know if I'll play, let alone if I'll leave Manchester United in a year.

I'm happy where I am; otherwise, I wouldn't have stayed, but it's something that doesn't affect me.”
