Manchester United will be offered €120 million for Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window in a deal that will have a pivotal effect on the future of the Old Trafford side.

Bruno has long been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, and it appears that interest remains, with the Manchester Evening News reporting that Man Utd ‘expect’ a new offer for the Portuguese.

The 31-year-old has previously hinted that he is ready to leave United if the club feel it’s the best move for them, while the MEN states that with Ruben Amorim’s side once again struggling in the Premier League, he could be tempted to depart.

Of course, Bruno would be a huge winner financially. His wages would be more than doubled, with a contract worth more than €800,000 (£700,000) per week expected to be offered to the former Sporting CP ace.

United, meanwhile, could be drawn into a sale by a sky-high offer. Al Hilal offered around €120m for the player in the summer, and it is expected that one of Saudi’s top sides could replicate that bid. Bruno, who is out of contract in 2027, has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €47.3m.

Doubts over Bruno and Mainoo

Man Utd are in the process of strengthening their midfield, with Ruben Amorim having moved Bruno into a deeper role from his customary No.10 position.

Kobbie Mainoo stands waiting in reserve for the Red Devils, but his lack of mobility appears to be a problem for Amorim, who has rarely given the young Englishman opportunities to start.

The future of the 20-year-old is also up for debate. Ahead of the World Cup, Mainoo is thought to be pushing for a loan transfer in order to give him the first-team football he needs to make his way into Thomas Tuchel’s plans for North America.

United will not allow both Mainoo and Bruno to leave in January, and it would be a major statement of intent if they were to reject a blockbuster bid for the veteran Portuguese.
