Chelsea owners send MILLIONS to Liverpool
Liverpool would benefit handsomely if BlueCo-owned Strasbourg were to sign Brentford attacker Fabio Carvalho.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Chelsea's sister club are long-term admirers of the Portugal youth international. Despite failing to sign Carvalho in January, Strasbourg remain interested with a view to a move in 2026.
Instead of heading to France, Carvalho left Liverpool for London, joining Brentford in a lucrative €23.4 million deal, which represented a significant profit of the Reds' original outlay of €9.4m.
The 23-year-old had struggled to establish himself at Anfield, and it seems to be a similar story with the Bees. The versatile attacker has seen little Premier League action so far this season, although he did net a crucial last-minute equaliser against Chelsea last month.
Talk of a potential departure in 2026 is ramping up, with Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart and Ligue 1 side Lyon credited with an interest, in addition to Strasbourg.
Liverpool would benefit from Carvalho move
TEAMtalk has now provided an update on the situation and confirms that there is a swiftly growing list of suitors ready to pounce on Carvalho's potential availability.
If he were indeed to leave Brentford, Carvalho would aim to stay in a top-five league. Despite having enjoyed great success with Fulham and Hull City in the Championship, he feels he has done enough to warrant a first-division transfer.
The report acknowledges, though, that Brentford are in a strong negotiating position and will likely demand a significant premium, which could prove problematic for his non-Premier League admirers.
An additional factor that will influence Carvalho's price tag is the fact that Liverpool, too, will stand to benefit from his next move. They inserted a 17.5 per cent sell-on clause into his Brentford deal, so they would be owed a healthy chunk of his final fee.
