Juventus have reportedly identified Chelsea outcast Axel Disasi as a possible January signing as they look to find a replacement for the injured Gleison Bremer.

The Old Lady were without star defender Bremer for the majority of the 2024-25 season due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and the club have now confirmed that he has suffered a torn meniscus on the same knee.

The Brazilian has once again undergone surgery in an attempt to repair the damage and he is set to be sidelined for several months as a result.

Daniele Rugani and Lloyd Kelly were therefore deployed as a centre-back duo during Juventus’ 2-0 defeat to Como on Sunday, and the Italian giants have identified the heart of defence as a key area for improvement during the January transfer window.

Local outlet JuveLive have confirmed this news and they have revealed that Disasi has been earmarked as a potential target on a loan with an option to buy deal.

In fact, it’s understood that Disasi is viewed as a “respectable replacement for Bremer”, with the Turin outfit reportedly eager to finalise a transfer amid his current status at Chelsea.

The Frenchman has been cast aside by Enzo Maresca since returning from a loan spell at Aston Villa this summer, but he failed to secure a move away from west London, despite interest from several clubs across Europe.

Disasi and fellow ‘Bomb Squad’ member Raheem Sterling have been forced to train away from Chelsea’s first-team since moving back to the club, although Maresca has revealed he has little sympathy for the pair.

Enzo Maresca on Axel Disasi

When asked about Disasi and Sterling in September, Chelsea boss Maresca told reporters: “I've been in Raheem's situation and Axel's situation as a player. I know that it's not the best feeling, because if you're a player it means you want to train and play.

“But for different reasons, the situation is what it is in this moment. I know that the club is giving them the opportunity to work in the right way, and this is the only thing I can say.

“It's something you like to talk about but it's not just Chelsea, it's any club in the world, I can promise you. Italy, Spain, England, France, USA, Brazil, any country in the world.

“For any reason the player and the club doesn't find a solution, if you are not involved in the squad you are not involved in the squad. Again, I know that it's something that you like to talk about but it's not about Chelsea, it's about any club in the world.”

He continued: “My father is 75 years old, and for 50 years he has been a fisherman working from two o'clock in the morning until 10 o'clock in the morning. This is a hard life. Not the way a player works.”
