Chelsea are reportedly happy with Jamie Gittens despite the youngster’s difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge since his transfer from Dortmund in the summer.

Gittens arrived in July for €56 million but the 21-year-old has failed to make an impact in any of his appearances so far and had endured some criticism from fans during his limited game time.

However, despite the noise surrounding his form, TBR Football report that Chelsea are said to be satisfied with all their young signings so far, including Gittens, and there are ‘no issues surrounding him.

The winger has only started twice in the Premier League and played just 161 minutes so far, while he could not make an impact in 70 minutes against lower league Lincoln in the Carabao Cup.

But Gittens found some momentum during the international break with a goal for England’s under-21s against Moldova as well as assisting Chelsea teammate Tyrique George’s winner versus Andorra.

Having also shown promise in a 15-minute cameo in the win over Liverpool, Gittens could be given more game time in the coming weeks following news that Cole Palmer is set for a further spell on the sidelines through injury.

Summer signings still yet to find form in Chelsea shirt

Chelsea spent big on a number of forwards alongside Gittens in the summer including Alejandro Garnacho, Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, although none have been at their best on a consistent basis as of yet.

Pedro started brightly with two goals and two assists in his first three league matches, after also netting three times at the Club World Cup in the summer, but the 24-year-old hasn’t scored in six games since and has also failed to register a shot in his last five appearances.

Delap also failed to score in three appearances before suffering a hamstring injury in August that could keep him out until the new year.

The pressure will also be on Garnacho to justify his €46m signing after playing just 86 minutes of league football so far, with the 21-year-old likely to feature against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
