Aston Villa are bracing themselves for an unwanted transfer approach after seeing one of their key players change agents to seemingly prepare for a move in the future.

Villa have bounced back with five straight wins across all competitions after a disappointing start to the campaign following a difficult transfer window during the summer.

Unai Emery’s side spent just €30.5 million in the summer after missing out on the riches of the Champions League, which left them pushed to the wall financially due to PSR constraints.

The situation led to uncertainty surrounding key players such as Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers and Emi Martinez, which inevitably carried over into the new campaign as Villa failed to win their first six games of the season.

But tensions have seemingly settled after a turnaround in results and Villa are beginning to look forward, though they will be wary of Lucas Digne switching agencies to Classico according to French outlet FootMercato.

Digne has featured in every Premier League game so far for Villa and the 32-year-old grabbed his second assist of the season for Emi Buendia’s stunning winner against Tottenham last weekend, highlighting his importance to Emery’s team.

Why Digne decision could benefit Villa transfer speculation

Despite the initial scare of Digne’s decision, Villa are believed to be relaxed over the Frenchman’s future, having tied him down to a new deal in August which keeps him contracted until 2028.

Although Digne’s decision to seek new representation just months after penning his new contract has proven intriguing, it could serve to end speculation over his future too.

Digne was one of many players linked with an exit during the summer despite being an integral player to Emery’s side and a change in representation to a lower-profile agency may signify that he is ready to see out his new deal at Villa Park.

Classico’s other high profile clients include Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye, Bafode Diakite of Bournemouth and Chelsea summer signing Mamadou Sarr, currently on loan at Strasbourg.
