'Chelsea and Man Utd in particular' keen on in-form €84m star
Juventus are looking to sell Dusan Vlahovic in January and are hoping that Chelsea and Manchester United will be back in for the striker, according to Italian media.
The 25-year-old was in red-hot form in the opening games of the season, scoring four goals in as many appearances despite primarily featuring as a substitute.
This form saw him rewarded with back-to-back starting berths in Serie A, but Vlahovic did not manage to get on the scoresheet in those games. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serbia international is now expected to drop back to the bench.
The report adds that his promising form has done nothing to change his future in Turin. The striker is fully expected to depart the Bianconeri in 2026 after he failed to secure a move away in the summer.
Vlahovic's contract, the most lucrative in all of Serie A, expires next year and will not be extended. In fact, Juventus will actively look to offload him in the January transfer window.
Vlahovic heading to England?
The Italian publication claims that 'the Premier League has never hidden its interest in the Serbian striker' and names Chelsea and Man Utd 'in particular' as his suitors.
Juventus will try to push the 25-year-old out in the winter in a bid to recoup at least a small chunk of their €83.5 million outlay, but whether they will succeed is a different question, given that they failed to force him out in the summer.
It is acknowledged that a January departure will likely only become a concrete option if a club that would struggle to fend off competition for Vlahovic in the summer decides to try and beat the others to the punch in the winter.
The report adds that the current arrangement of sharing the minutes between Vlahovic, Jonathan David and Lois Openda could yet become a problem. On the one hand, it helps Vlahovic boost his value.
On the other hand, there is a worry that giving the departing striker game time over two big summer investments will disgruntle them or diminish their confidence. The Vlahovic case will keep club chiefs busy for the next few months.
