Tyrell Malacia's loan move from Manchester United to Elche has collapsed.

The Dutchman is the last remaining member of the Red Devils' five-man 'Bomb Squad,' with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford having sealed transfers away, while Antony and Jadon Sancho are set to complete Deadline Day moves to Real Betis and Aston Villa, respectively.

Malacia looked to be on the way out, too, as LaLiga side Elche opened talks with Man Utd over a loan deal last week. The promoted Spanish outfit have already signed the likes of Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena and Leipzig striker Andre Silva, while talks have also taken place with ex-Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech.

However, The Athletic now reports that Malacia's proposed transfer to Elche has collapsed. The report states that discussions between the two clubs broke down over the weekend and that they have not been revived.

The parties involved could not agree on a permanent element for next summer, and Elche have moved on from Malacia. They are now expected to pursue a move for Sevilla defender Adria Pedrosa.

Malacia to stay at Man Utd?

With just a few hours to go until the deadline, it looks increasingly unlikely that Malacia will be able to depart Man Utd for a top European league this summer.

The left-back has also fielded interest from Serie A side Roma, but it seems that it is too late for a move to Italy to materialise. However, Malacia could yet depart for Turkey or Saudi Arabia as these windows will remain open for another 10 days.

It has been a difficult summer for the former Dutch international, with concrete interest few and far between. Malacia spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV.

An injury that kept him out of action for over a year doomed his Man Utd career, and Ruben Amorim made it clear early on that Malacia would not have a place in his side. It remains to be seen if he can find a new club or if he will be forced to stay at Old Trafford.
