Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo has urged his teammates to ignore the outside noise and focus on winning games after a dismal start to the season.

The Cameroon international joined the Red Devils in a whopping €82 million deal in the summer, and he is one of the few players at Old Trafford with credit in the bank after the opening games of the new season.

Mbeumo has been ever-present, and his endeavour can't be faulted, even if he has so far only managed one goal in the Premier League. The 26-year-old has been a consistent threat for Man Utd while the majority of his teammates have struggled.

The Manchester giants have only won two out of their six top-flight games so far, and they crashed out of the Carabao Cup to League Two side Grimsby. Head coach Ruben Amorim is under intense pressure and may not live to see the January transfer window.

There was plenty of optimism about Man Utd heading into the season, but this positivity has already given way to toxicity, and the Red Devils are yet again in the doldrums following a listless 3-1 loss to Brentford.

Mbeumo urges teammates to focus on winning

Speaking to Sky Sports after the defeat to his former club, Mbeumo has urged his Man Utd teammates to drown out the noise from the press and social media and to focus on what really matters: winning games of football.

"Obviously, it's different, it's not the same. The only thing we want to be focused on is ourselves. We just try not to really listen to what's going on on the side and just try to win games," he explained.

"I mean, it's not that hard [to ignore the noise]. Obviously, the main things we see are on social media, so just like, not going there really [as] much can just help to stay focused on your own things."

When asked about the budding relationship between himself and fellow attacking recruits Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha, Mbeumo's face lit up. "Obviously, it's exciting to learn to play with new players. It's always challenging, and that's what we like as footballers," he said.
