Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has announced that there is no way back for 'Bomb Squad' members Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling.

The Blues managed to offload most of their unwanted players in the summer transfer window, but not every member of their notorious 'Bomb Squad' managed to secure a move away.

Sterling and Disasi, who cost Chelsea a combined €101.2 million, remain on the books at Stamford Bridge, and it looks unlikely that they will move to a league where the window remains open, such as Saudi Arabia.

Sterling has no interest in leaving London, while Disasi was reportedly open to a move to Turkey but is not keen on heading to the Middle East. The Turkish window closed on Friday, with David Datro Fofana securing a late loan move to Karagumruk.

Disasi recently revealed that he 'pushed until the last minute' to return to Monaco this summer, but no move materialised, leaving him stuck at Chelsea.

Maresca: No way back for Bomb Squad

Despite training separately from the rest of Chelsea's squad, Sterling and Disasi have been included in the club's Premier League squad for the season. However, Enzo Maresca was quick to dismiss suggestions that they could be reintegrated into the first team.

"They are Chelsea players because they have a contract with the club," he said ahead of the Blues' clash with Brentford. "In this moment, they are still training apart. The idea is to continue in exactly the same way.

"Since we started the season, I didnt see one of them. I didn't see Renato [Veiga, now at Villarreal], I didn't see Axel [Disasi], I didn’t see Raheem [Sterling] because they train at a different time on a different pitch. I haven’t seen them since we started the season."

When asked if there could be a way back for them after being included in this season's squad, Maresca bluntly responded: "With us? No."
