Nicolas Jackson in bombshell transfer twist as Bayern 'UNLIKELY' to sign Chelsea striker
Bayern Munich are reportedly “unlikely” to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson permanently next summer, despite the fact that an obligation-to-buy clause has been included in his loan deal.
The Senegal star is on the verge of finally completing a move to Vincent Kompany’s side, with the reigning Bundesliga champions set to land Jackson on a season-long loan deal for a fee of €16.5 million.
Jackson was expected to return to Chelsea on Sunday evening, following Liam Delap’s hamstring injury, but the Blues have performed a complete U-turn and they have now sanctioned his departure.
Instead, Enzo Maresca’s side have decided to recall Marc Guiu from his loan spell at Sunderland in order to provide cover for Delap.
As a result, Jackson is expected to complete his move to Bayern before the summer transfer window slams shut at 19:00 BST.
Nicolas Jackson transfer twist
This has also been confirmed by BILD, however the German publication have crucially revealed that the obligation-to-buy clause will only become active after a “very, very high number of appearances.”
As a result, they claim that Jackson is “unlikely” to join Bayern on a permanent deal in 2026.
The Senegal star has agreed to sign a five-year contract with the Allianz Arena outfit if the transfer becomes permanent next summer, but BILD believe he is more likely to return to Chelsea instead.
Jackson scored 13 goals in 37 appearances for Chelsea last season and he is expected to compete with Tottenham Hotspur legend Harry Kane for a starting berth as Bayern’s centre forward this campaign.
The Senegal star will become the club’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Luis Diaz, Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof.
