Besiktas have made a €22 million bid for Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard, according to reports.

The Belgium international has been in limbo over his future all summer, and the situation hasn't changed, even with most European windows now closed.

Trossard fielded interest from several clubs around England and Europe, but somewhat bizarrely, reports emerged two weeks ago that Arsenal and the 30-year-old had agreed terms on a new contract.

This wasn't an extension to his previous deal, which ran until 2026 with an option for 2027, but it gave him a substantial pay rise. This agreement came at a time when the Gunners looked to have given up on signing a new left winger, much to the frustration of supporters.

Ultimately, Arsenal did end up signing Eberechi Eze after hijacking Tottenham's deal for him, which has now seen Trossard's future become the subject of fresh speculation.

Besiktas make Trossard bid

Earlier on Thursday, reports emerged from Turkey reporting that Besiktas have taken a keen interest in the Belgian after missing out on Jadon Sancho as their marquee winger target.

Now, the enigmatic 'transfer insider' X account Indykaila claims that the Istanbul giants have made a €22 million bid for Trossard, with the Turkish window still open until 12 September.

This echoes an assertion made by Turkish outlet Sozcu, which provides additional context on the situation. Russian side Rubin Kazan have made a loan offer for Besiktas winger Ernest Muci, which gives increased urgency to their search for a new wide forward.

The report states that negotiations between Arsenal and their Super Lig counterparts are in full swing, and that the Gunners are actively looking to sell the veteran attacker.

It remains to be seen if anything will come of this, but Arsenal will surely be seriously evaluating the bid given that they finished the window with the biggest net spend in the world despite concerns over UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules.
