Football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has declared that Arsenal made one of the best signings of the summer with a deal that has flown under the radar.

The Gunners spent more money than any other club in the transfer market this summer, but Romano feels that the business Mikel Arteta’s side did was smart.

He has gone so far as to claim that the Gunners’ have had an ‘underrated’ window in which they did not sign any established world stars but did add terrific quality to their ranks.

Pointing to Sunday’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest as evidence, he says Arsenal’s new additions have settled quickly, with Cristhian Mosquera one of those singled out for praise.

He explained on YouTube: “Arsenal won over the weekend against Nottingham Forest but you can already see the impact to the new signings.

Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi are scoring goals. They were fantastic signings, and it was quite underrated what Arsenal did this summer with Zubimendi, who is a special midfielder and a special player, but also with Christian Mosquera. They paid almost nothing for him, less than €20 million as a package.”

Madueke quick to silence critics

Romano also pointed out that Noni Madueke has rapidly silenced his doubters since a controversial summer switch.

“It’s also important to point out other players like Noni Madueke from Chelsea – remember the social media movement with many fans not so happy about that deal. He didn’t have any problem accepting that challenge. Now Madueke is being appreciated by Arsenal fans. It’s a good point for Arsenal after the opening Premier League games.”

Arsenal have made a strong start to the campaign, picking up three Premier League wins from four matches and only narrowly losing the other away at champions Liverpool.

Next up for the Gunners is a Champions League clash against Athletic Club.
