Guehi has already agreed personal terms, says Schira, on a contract until 2030.

In order to complete the deal, Liverpool are just waiting for the final green light from Crystal Palace, which is expected imminently.

Guehi to Liverpool, Gomez to Milan

Meanwhile, AC Milan have sent an official bid to Liverpool for Joe Gomez, according to multiple sources including Schira and Fabrizio Romano.

Romano says it is an offer for a pemrnant deal with the two clubs now discussing terms.

Schira says that Gomez has already given his availability in order to join Liverpool in search of first-team football.

Gomez has fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool further following the summer arrival of Giovanni Leoni from Parma.

Romano adds, though, that Gomez will only be allowed to leave Liverpool if the Guehi transfer is completed.

Guehi’s contract with Palace expires in 2026 and he is not willing to sign a new deal.

Guehi has established himself as one of the best centre backs in the Premier League and was part of a Palace team who won the FA Cup in May.

Liverpool are in the market for a top centre back this summer as they continue a spending spree that has already seen them sign Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike and potentially Alexander Isak.

Guehi grew up in Chelsea’s youth system from the age of seven and graduated all the way to the first team.

However, he only played two games in the EFL Cup before he was loaned to Swansea in 2020 and eventually sold to Crystal Palace in 2021.

At Palace he has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League, making over 150 appearances.

He has been capped 23 times by England and he impressed during Euro 2024 on the way to the final.
