EXCLUSIVE: Ruben Amorim could quit Man Utd this weekend
People close to Ruben Amorim genuinely believe that he could quit Manchester United this weekend, The Transfers Podcast can reveal.

The Portuguese tactician is already under intense pressure just three games into the new season. An encouraging performance in the opening day loss to Arsenal was followed by a disappointing 1-1 draw away at Fulham.
Man Utd's nadir came on Wednesday evening as Amorim's men crashed out of the Carabao Cup against League Two side Grimsby on penalties after being forced to claw their way back from a 2-0 deficit.
It was an embarrassing performance from a side that primarily featured established first-team stars, including summer signings Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha.
Amorim could not even bear to watch the shootout, which was lost 12-11, with Cunha and fellow recruit Bryan Mbeumo missing their spot kicks. After the game, the 40-year-old cryptically suggested that the players were sending a message that he had lost their trust and that change is necessary.
Amorim could really quit Man Utd
Man Utd have been quick to reassure that Amorim retains their backing, and the head coach himself backtracked on his emotionally-charged comments earlier on Friday.
“If you are one way and this behaviour, you have things that are good and you have the other side of the coin," he said. "Sometimes I want to quit, sometimes I want to be here for 20 years. Sometimes I don’t want to be with my players. I need to improve on that.”
However, The Transfers Podcast can reveal that people close to Amorim genuinely believe that he could quit this weekend after the potential banana skin fixture that will see promoted Burnley play Old Trafford on Saturday.
Duncan Castles explained on the latest episode of The Transfers Podcast: "We have Amorim there signalling that he is ready to leave the club, and this is a coach who, in the summer, admitted that he was considering leaving the club during his first season at Man Utd, and had decided to continue.
"A remarkable situation that you have a coach of a club of Man Utd's stature, who on two occasions has placed himself in a position where he is signalling that he wants to leave.
"I checked this in Portugal yesterday, asked people close to Amorim whether it was the case that he was considering leaving the club, and the feedback I got was that no one is denying he could leave after this weekend's game against Burnley.
Castles added that, "Man Utd have been briefing that he still has their support, that they are conscious that they don't want to make the same mistake they made last time season in that they put a lot of money into the transfer market to support Erik ten Hag and ended up dismissing him a few months into the season and bringing Amorim in."
However, the transfer insider believes that the situation is becoming increasingly "untenable," with Amorim clearly having lost faith in his own ability to turn things around. Nothing is set in stone, but the outcome of this weekend's clash could have a seismic impact on the future of Man Utd.
