Romano announces Arsenal signing as Gunners get positive striker message
Arsenal are closing in on their seventh signing of the summer, with Fabrizio Romano declaring that an “agreement is almost done”.
Mikel Arteta’s side have already signed six players to bolster the first-team pool, with the Gunners splashing out €237 million on talent.
Romano says that the North London side are ready to add to that by adding Piero Hincapie on loan with an obligation to buy.
Writing on X, he confirmed that a move for the versatile Bayer Leverkusen centre-back is close.
“Understand Arsenal are closing in on Piero Hincapie deal with Bayer, here we go soon!
“Agreement almost done as Bayer accept loan with obligation to buy for Hincapie, which was the formula wanted by Arsenal.
“Details on fee structure being sorted and then here we go coming next.”
Hincapie’s imminent move to Arsenal is set to trigger Jakub Kiwior’s transfer to Porto.
The Gunners have struck a package worth a minimum of €25m for the Poland international defender, with €2m more potentially arriving in bonus payments, The Athletic reports.
This deal hinges on Arsenal getting Hincapie over the line.
Kai Havertz sends positive message
Kai Havertz has broken his silence on the injury problem that seemed to prompt Arsenal to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
The Germany international took to his socials to post: “Small set back, thanks to the medical team for all the care and attention. Back soon.”

This is a major boost to Arsenal’s attack as there were fears that Havertz’s knee injury might have been a serious problem.
The €75m signing from Chelsea scored nine Premier League goals last season and laid on three more assists, despite managing only 23 appearances in the competition due to another problem.
His imminent return opens up more offensive possibilities for Arsenal ahead of a busy period before Christmas.
