Man Utd receive transfer CONFIRMATION as Amorim fires warning
AC Milan have officially confirmed their interest in Manchester United outcast Rasmus Hojlund following his omission by Ruben Amorim on Sunday afternoon.
The Denmark international was excluded from Man Utd’s matchday squad to face Arsenal in their opening fixture of the new Premier League season and he was forced to watch their 1-0 defeat from the Old Trafford stands.
Matheus Cunha was selected in a centre forward role in Amorim’s starting XI, while €76.5 million summer signing Benjamin Sesko made his debut in the second-half.
Hojlund has been told to find a new club by the Man Utd hierarchy, following the arrival of Sesko, and a summer exit is on the cards, despite the 22-year-old’s desire to stay at Old Trafford.
Speaking ahead of Man Utd’s defeat to Arsenal, Amorim told reporters: “At United, if you don't do what's required, a team-mate will take your place. I've made a lot of mistakes, but I've shown that if you deserve it, you play.
“He [Hojlund] has to fight for his place. We will see what's going to happen in the market. Rasmus has the same characteristics as Ben [Sesko], so sometimes we need to choose.”
AC Milan confirm Rasmus Hojlund interest
AC Milan are among the clubs linked with a move for Hojlund before Transfer Deadline Day and their sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed their interest in the Denmark striker.
“Hojlund is a good option for us,” he told Sport Mediaset (via ESPN). “We are thinking about him, but in the transfer market, you never know what could happen.”
Man Utd have reportedly set their asking price at roughly €35 million, however Milan are either hoping to finalise a loan move or a permanent deal for a cheaper fee.
Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is also on Milan’s radar amid his uncertain future with the Turin giants.
