Man Utd to complete biggest deal of the summer next week - Fabrizio Romano
Fabrizio Romano expects AC Milan to accelerate their potential signing of Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund next week.
The Red Devils are finally making some progress in offloading members of their 'Bomb Squad,' although perhaps not in the way initially anticipated.
Man Utd expected to bank significant fees from sales already this summer, but this hasn't materialised so far. Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona initially on loan with an option to make his move permanent for around €30 million next year.
Similarly, Jadon Sancho looks to be heading to Italy, where AS Roma are set to have a loan bid with a €23m purchase obligation accepted by Man Utd. The winger still needs to agree personal terms with the Giallorossi.
It remains to be seen if Alejandro Garnacho's proposed move to Chelsea will be a sale or also a loan deal at first. The current suggestions are that it will be a permanent move, with the Blues looking to pay less than €40m for the Argentine.
Hojlund move to accelerate
The potential departure of Rasmus Hojlund could therefore be the biggest outgoing at Man Utd this summer, although he too is expected to leave the club on loan initially.
AC Milan have an agreement in principle with Man Utd for a temporary deal with a €45 million purchase option. The Rossoneri will also pay the Red Devils a €6m loan fee.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Hojlund's exit could be accelerated next week if he doesn't play in Man Utd's season opener against Arsenal on Sunday. "From next week, his exit could become really, really concrete," Romano said in his latest YouTube video.
Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim has insisted that Hojlund is 'still an option' for him, despite not using him in the club's final pre-season friendly against Fiorentina. "He's one more option," he insisted. "We will see. We are focused on this game, and Rasmus is still an option."
