Man Utd get €60m opportunity to HIJACK deal for Sesko alternative
Manchester United have retained their long-standing interest in PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani, who is growing frustrated with the lack of progress regarding a move to Juventus.
The big European striker domino hasn't quite started yet, but it appears to be only a matter of time before things really kick off. Man Utd are firmly involved as they continue to lure Benjamin Sesko to Old Trafford.
The RB Leipzig striker has yet to make a decision on his next club, with Newcastle also in the mix. Unlike Man Utd, the Magpies have already placed their first bid and are expected to return with an improved offer.
Leipzig are demanding a package well in excess of €80 million, which may be difficult to muster for a Man Utd side who are massively struggling to offload their unwanted players. The Red Devils, too, are expected to make an offer for Sesko, but it remains to be seen if they can outbid Newcastle.
The outcome of the Sesko saga will be very interesting as it could also influence the future of Randal Kolo Muani. Both Man Utd and Newcastle are interested in the Frenchman.
Kolo Muani frustration revealed
The Transfers Podcast recently revealed that Man Utd and Newcastle remain keen on Kolo Muani, who is a long-standing target of both. L'Equipe has now confirmed our reporting and added that a move to the Premier League is still a possibility.
Kolo Muani spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, and the Bianconeri are keen to sign him permanently. The Frenchman, too, is ready to return to Turin.
However, talks between Juventus and PSG are proving extremely difficult because the European champions value Kolo Muani at a whopping €60 million. Juventus can't pay that but remain favourites to sign him (potentially via another loan). English clubs, meanwhile, are looking to pounce.
The delay in Juventus striking a deal is causing growing frustration, as are the premature reports from Italy, which claim that Kolo Muani has agreed terms with the Old Lady. This is not yet the case, providing an additional incentive to Premier League clubs.
Whoever misses out on Sesko could pivot to Kolo Muani as a cheaper alternative, provided Juventus don't manage to find a common ground with PSG beforehand.
