Man Utd make Andre Onana transfer decision after Burnley benching
Andre Onana is not expecting a departure from Manchester United this summer despite his relegation to Altay Bayindir's deputy.
The Cameroon international has fallen out of favour after his repeated mistakes last season. Ruben Amorim is unconvinced by Onana and has opted to use Bayindir in the early stages of the current campaign, despite the Turkey international looking shaky, too.
Onana was given a chance in the Carabao Cup clash with League Two side Grimsby, but he did not cover himself in glory in what turned into one of the most humiliating games in recent Man Utd history.
Any hopes Onana may have had of reclaiming his No.1 spot were dashed when Amorim benched him again for Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley.
However, despite this, Ben Jacobs reports that Onana is not anticipating a departure from Old Trafford before the 1 September deadline. In fact, even if Senne Lammens is signed, the Cameroonian is expected to remain at Man Utd.
Man Utd still in talks for Lammens
Talks with Royal Antwerp over a deal for Lammens remain ongoing. Man Utd received positive signals on Friday evening and will make one last push for the Belgian this weekend.
The Red Devils are reluctant to overpay for the 23-year-old, which has delayed an agreement. Antwerp are holding out for as much as €25m, a fee Galatasaray are seemingly ready to pay.
Man Utd, on the other hand, have yet to show a willingness to match this asking price. Worryingly, for the Old Trafford side, Aston Villa could also make a move for Lammens before the deadline amid uncertainty over the future of Emiliano Martinez, according to The Telegraph.
Ironically, the Argentine was approached by Man Utd earlier this summer. However, they were only willing to offer a loan deal, which Aston Villa rejected, and the matter was put to bed. Martinez is an option for Al-Nassr if Bento departs.
