Fabrizio Romano confirms SHOCK Jamie Vardy move to Italian minnows
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Jamie Vardy has completed a shock free transfer to Italian minnows Cremonese.
Romano has given his customary 'Here we Go' announcement, revealing that Vardy's move to the newly-promoted Serie A side is a done deal.
Vardy has agreed a deal with Cremonese until June 2026 with the option of a further year if the club remain in Serie A.
Romano says the transfer is all done and that Vardy will travel to Milan tonight in order to start his new chapter.
Vardy to Cremonese
Vardy has been searching for a new club since leaving Leicester at the end of last season following their relegation to the Championship.
He has been linked with a host of clubs such as Brentford, West Ham United, Wrexham, Celtic and even Manchester United but he has chosen to join Cremonese.
Vardy already has shares in Serie A club Como but now will be playing in the division for Cremonese.
The minnows were promoted from Serie B last season and have made a shock start to life in Serie A.
They have won both of their first two games of the season, stunning AC Milan 2-1 at San Siro before winning a thrilling 3-2 victory against Sassuolo at the weekend.
Vardy will be hoping to keep the side in the top flight, adding some much-needed experience.
Now 38, Vardy has no intention of retiring after a legendary spell at Leicester.
The striker scored 200 goals during 13 years at Leicester, famously leading the team to a fairytale Premier League triumph in 2016.
He was capped 26 times by England, scoring seven goals.
