Chelsea Transfer News Today: Romano confirms deal as Maresca issues brutal message
FootballTransfers runs through all the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Nicolas Jackson and Julio Enciso.
Enzo Maresca delivers brutal message
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku will both be absent from the club’s matchday squad to face West Ham United due to ongoing transfer speculation.
“Jackson is available but is not going to be part of the squad because we have two strikers in that position and we know that something can happen before the transfer window closes,” Maresca told reporters.
“Christo is the same as Nico. Training with us but waiting for a solution.”
He added: “I think it is better if they find a solution as they will be more happy, and the club will feel the same.”
Julio Enciso deal
Chelsea owners BlueCo have officially secured a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion forward Julio Enciso, who will join Strasbourg for a reported fee of €20 million this summer.
The Paraguay international will initially join Strasbourg, but The Athletic’s David Ornstein has confirmed that he is viewed as a “long-term Chelsea player.”
This has been backed up by Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that Enciso will spend this season at Strasbourg, before joining Chelsea next summer on a deal until 2031.
Borussia Dortmund double deal
Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea are close to finalising a double deal with Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga giants are in advanced talks to sign Carney Chukwuemeka on a permanent deal and Aaron Anselmino on a season-long loan.
Chukwuemeka and Anselmino are two of 13 deals that Chelsea want to complete during the final 12 days of the summer transfer window.
Nicolas Jackson to Arsenal?
Arsenal are eyeing a potential move for the Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, according to The Sun.
The Senegal forward has been banished from the Chelsea first-team following the signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, and he is expected to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal before Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September.
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Eberechi Eze following Kai Havertz’s injury, but Jackson is reportedly also on their radar.
Andrey Santos interest
Manchester United brought up the possibility of signing Andrey Santos during discussions with Chelsea over Alejandro Garnacho, but the Blues have no intention of selling the Brazilian this summer.
That is according to Ben Jacobs, who claims that Man Utd are huge admirers of the 21-year-old.
